Snow blowers manufactures do not use model years for their latest snow blowing equipment. They use model numbers and only change those numbers when they significantly change that machine.
Ariens Model Numbers are typically found on the controls panel. It can also be found on the back of the clutch housing at the rear of the unit below the engine, where you will find a small identification plate on which the model number and serial number of your machine are etched.
Ariens Model numbers have specific designations. As an example, a model such as “ST824”. can be translated to mean your “Sno-Thro” unit has an 8 hp engine, and an impeller opening width of 24 inches.
